Disclosure Overview

Echoes is being built with transparency at its core, the same value that runs through every Echo shared on our platform. This document is the first Initial Expense Disclosure covering the estimated cost of operating and building Echoes from July through December 2026.

This is a good-faith estimate based on current known costs. Actual spending may vary slightly month to month, and we commit to publishing an updated disclosure if material changes occur.

Facilities & Rent

Covers the physical workspace needed to operate day-to-day, hold meetings, and store equipment used in building and running Echoes.

Legal & Compliance

Covers legal review of foundational documents, including our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and any early-stage entity or fundraising compliance work.

Recurring Monthly Expenses

These are the operational tools that keep Echoes running and visible, billed monthly across the six-month period.

Founders' Survival Fund

Building Echoes is a full-time commitment. This fund covers modest founder salaries so Aileen and Jason can dedicate their full attention to Echoes during this critical building phase, rather than dividing time with outside work.

Additional Costs to Watch

In fairness to our members and supporters, we want to flag a few categories that are not yet itemized in this first disclosure but are common early-stage costs worth anticipating as Echoes scales:

• Payment processing fees: transaction fees from fundraising or membership platforms, typically 2–3% per transaction.
• Insurance: general liability or technology/errors-and-omissions coverage, often relevant once a platform handles sensitive personal data.
• Accounting & bookkeeping: maintaining clean financial records, especially important for donor and member trust.
• Domain, SSL & email services: small but essential recurring costs for site security and professional communication.
• Contingency buffer: a modest reserve (often 5–10% of total budget) for unplanned costs, which is not currently included in the $54,800 total.
• Marketing & content production: beyond social media subscriptions, costs may arise for paid promotion or contracted content help.
